Finding Calm in the Chaos: A Guide to Mindfulness
DDr. Anya Sharma
November 5, 2025Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully aware of the moment you are in – without judgment. It sounds simple, but it takes practice. Here are a few ways to start:
- One-Minute Breathing: Set a timer for one minute. Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Notice the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body. If your mind wanders, gently guide it back to your breath.
- Mindful Observation: Pick an ordinary object, like a pen or a plant. Look at it as if for the first time. Notice its colors, textures, and shape. This helps ground you in the present.
- The Body Scan: Lie down and bring your attention to your toes. Notice any sensations. Slowly move your attention up through your body – to your feet, legs, torso, and so on. This cultivates a greater awareness of your physical self.
Incorporating these small practices into your daily routine can make a big difference in managing stress and anxiety.
